I’m Baaack!

Hello, all. It’s been a while. School’s been brutal. It feels like all the projects I’ve been assigned are due on the same day. But I do have a couple new bands to share with you!

FIrst one is a band who’s debut album will be out in February: Phantogram. It’s two musicians named Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter from Saratoga Springs, who must be dedicated if they’re driving 45 almost every day to a barn/recording studio with all of their equipment in it. They use a huge variety of instruments and have pretty awesome voices. Barthel’s voice is especially amazing, she’s part of the reason that most of the songs have a lonely, helpless tone to them. Their debut Eyelid Movies is coming out soon and, if you’re interested in it, they have a Myspace page. Check out the song “Mouthful of Diamonds”!

The other band I need to mention is Diablo Swing Orchestra. They have EPIC music and their album Sing Along Songs for the Damned and Delirious came out in September. They’re a band who came together because they got letters from their ancestors, who were all band mates, telling them to form the band again. Best backstory ever? I think so. They’ve also got a Myspace page, so you should all check out the first song on the CD, “A Tap Dancer’s Dilemma.” It’s a good taste of the rest of the CD.
